Advantages of the xArchive solution
xArchive ensures reliable storage of documents. Thanks to its sophisticated architecture, the solution is able e. g. to create backups in the cloud repository. It also allows you to use a repository with WORM functionality.
With the xArchive tool you can save documents in the cloud and enjoy the benefits of a repository with the WORM functionality (= write once read many: once stored, the data cannot be modified – this ensures that they will not be tampered with afterwards).
Incoming mail and documents
With the xArchive solution, you can easily save scanned documents and process them using the xTractor or OCR tools. If necessary, we will gladly ensure receipt and archiving of your emails or attachments in a SAP R/3 system.
Scenario – Mail and documents in a secure archive
You can scan and extract data from incoming documents using the xTractor or OCR tools. After that, the data can be automatically stored in a secure xArchive and still be readily available in your business systems, such as the SAP environment.
If you need to bulk-import your data into the SAP system, you can use our xDPRO interface.
Scenario – Confirmation of purchase orders, processing of incoming deliveries and invoices
Do you receive large numbers of documents as PDF files with a text layer (e. g. PDF documents generated in the SAP system of your business partner)? Our xDPRO interface will ensure accurate extraction of the data and the xDPRO4SAP will import it into the SAP system creating corresponding documents.
xArchive also allows you to store printouts and PDF files produced in SAP R/3 systems. On top of it, you can add digital signatures to PDF files.
Scenario – Outgoing documents bearing digital signatures
You can easily add digital signatures to documents created in your SAP R/3 system (typically sales invoices).
Data archiving before migration to SAP HANA
When you migrate to SAP HANA, the size of your database plays an important role. Save money by making the database smaller, which will also result in faster migration.
How does xArchive work?
xArchive is a .NET server application that stores data in container files of the VHDX type, in an MS Azure cloud, or in files in a regular FS filesystem. The use of VHDX files helps to greatly reduce the number of stored files and thereby shorten the time required for data backup and recovery. Technical metadata of the documents get stored in an MS SQL database.
If necessary, you can set read-only access to your VHDX files to prevent any further changes of the stored content.
You can manage the xArchive server via a user-friendly application for Windows. All actions require authentication and use encryption.
The xArchive server is supported in Windows 2012 and newer, MS SQL 2012 and newer.
